The Hawaiian Islands have been conveyed back to the Kingdom of Hawaii since January 11, 2002, shortly after the King of Hawaii was technically released from imprisonment for "trespassing" at the burial place of an ancestor, and "escape" from plain clothes "officers" of the Maui Police Department, who presented no identification, but revealed side arms and arrived at the burial place in a private unmarked vehicle to attempt to take His Royal Majesty Akahi Nui into their custody. After being handcuffed in the presence of his frightened grandchildren, His Royal Majesty simply walked back to the burial place and stood there. His Royal Majesty waited for several hours for the "officers" to return, but they did not. Later he was "arrested" by high ranking Maui Police Officers at a public Mall, tried in 2nd Circuit Court in violation of his Diplomatic and Sovereign Immunity, and incarcerated off the roster at Halawa High Security Correctional Facility with the most nortorious criminals in Hawaii. After less than five months served on a five year sentence, His Royal Majesty was released and able to resume his struggle to restore his nation.
