Johannesburg - About 150 people gathered at the Library Gardens in Johannesburg on Saturday to protest against United States President George W Bush's visit next week.
Protesting under the banner of the Anti-War Coalition, the demonstrators waved posters and sang struggle songs.
Some of the posters read "Bush, the mass murderer", "Bloodsucking vampire", "Jou ma se bush", "Behind every bush is a terrorist", and "Bush you won't rape our minds".
Anti-war Coalition spokesperson Salim Vally, said Bush, who is to tour Africa next week, was coming to the continent to represent "the narrow interests of arms manufacturers and big American corporates.
"Bush is a warmonger," Vally said. "They (the US administration) replaced the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein with an equally ruthless occupation of Iraq with United States troops."
Before Vally started speaking, the protesters' observed a moment of silence to remember "all victims of the US administration".
