Straw Bale work on eco-building in St.Anns: Part 20

Work is continuing at EcoWorks with the Straw Bale building. Walls are mostly enclosing the building now. Window-frames fitted. Layers of lime rendering on the outside walls. Now, over the last few days, a start is made on the inside walls. A preparation of clay, sand and straw is mixed. Clay is sieved to remove lumps and stones. Sand added to the mixture and a little water added sparingly.

Floods around Nottingham : Trent and the Soar

On my tour of the affected areas around the city ..... I started through Chilwell, Beeston and Long Eaton, and on the River Trent, to Trent Lock. Then, down the River Soar into Leicestershire and the area between the Sawley Marina and the M1 motorway. Back along the Trent to Attenborough and the reserve there.

Nottingham Against Incineration and Landfill [NAIL]

This video shows it is a national issue, affecting many people and their communities.

There has been a large campaign, with much support over recent times. A planning application to extend the operation of the Eastcroft Incinerator in Nottingham was denied. WRG, the operators of the plant, appealed. This process has now been stopped and a new application has been lodged.

Now, folks have to go round again.

The film explains the background and dangers.
