Tuesday in court 4 at Uxbridge Magistrates Court, and the prosecution is still presenting its case. A clutch of cops testify and in the afternoon everyone gets comfortable for the premier of the 50 minute video of the action, shot be the cops. Line of the day is about 20 minutes into the vidoe when the operator is heard to say "I hope this thing is working Frank!"

Monday saw the commencement of the Agrexco Seven trial at Uxbridge Magistrates Court. The seven are on trial for aggravated tresspass following a blockade of the Israeli national fresh produce exporters HQ in Hayes on November 11th, 2004, when all vehicular access tot he site was blocked with cages constructed by the defendants, for over 8 hours.

A vigil in memory of Bereket Yohannes will be held at 12 noon this coming Sunday 29th January outside Harmondsworth detention centre, on the A4 on the north edge of Heathrow Airport, west London.
Bereket Yohannes, a 26 year-old-man from Eritrea, was found hanged in the showers in Hamondsworth Immigration Removal Centre at around 5.25 last Thursday the 19th January 2006.

The Brick Lane London E1 Area campaign was supported by more than a thousand people last night who turned up to attend the KHOODEELAAR campaign meeting held in the Hanbury Street to say no to the Crossrail hole Bill now in the UK House of Commons. The campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill gave a most emphatic democratic ultimatum to the controlling group on the local Tower Hamlets Council to represent the community’s opposition to the Crossrail hole scheme.
The community demand was the implementation of the first
part of the KHOODEELAAR MANIFESTO 2006

Seven Palestine solidarity protesters from London and Brighton were
arrested on 11th November 2004 after they took part in a non-violent
blockade outside the UK base of an Israeli agricultural export company
Agrexco (UK) Ltd, Swallowfield Way, Hayes, Middlesex.
Agrexco is Israel’s largest importer of agricultural produce into the
European Union, and it is 50% Israeli state owned. It imports produce from
illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The protestors will face trial at Uxbridge Magistrates Court, between the
23rd-31st January 2006. They are each charged with two offences
under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. Section 68:
(Aggravated Trespass) and Section 69: (Failure To Leave Land). The defence
team will be advised by Palestinian QC Michel Abdel Massih of Tooks
Chambers.
The protesters will argue as a defence that they were acting to prevent
crimes against international law, that are also offences in the UK under
the International Criminal Court Act. The defendants will argue that these
offences are being supported by Agrexco (UK) .

From 23rd January the Venezuelan people will be hosting a huge celebration of democracy, with a national demonstration starting off a week of grassroots participatory internationalism, the World Social Forum. Monday's annual mega-demo, which in recent years has evolved into a carnival of "Bolivarian" (Venezuela's mass movement) liberation, commemorates the 1958 overthrow of Perez Jimenez, who is often incorrectly referred to as the country's last dictator. MEP's debated homosexuality on Jan 16th. They demanded
better protection for LGBT people across the EU in the light of recent attacks and some new (Eastern Euro) countries bans on gay parades and civil partnerships etc(Poland/Latvia etc)
