Students lobby against top-up fees

Hundreds of students attended a lobby of parliament against the New Labour Governments proposed top-up fees. A peaceful sit-down protest was broken up by police who were uneccessarily heavy handed.

These organisations are supposed to be the heartbeat of our democracy but to get a job, people are expected to work for extended periods for free. This creates a huge barrier for people from poorer backgrounds. The Interns Network wants to make internships more transparent, fair and fun. With his book, 'The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem' - in which he claimed that early war crimes committed by Israel against Palestines led to the refugee problem of today - Israeli historian Benny Morris became a pariah in his own country, and a hero, as well as much-utilised reference point, for the Pro-Palestinian cause.
