Police routinely interfere with Critical Mass, holding up the front of the ride, targeting sound systems and sometimes ticketing riders. They also video and photograph riders at the start of every event. It is odd though that they never turn up for the December ride, which is close to the New year celebrations.

BAA is seeking to gain an unwarrented injunction against environmental campaigners to prevent them protesting against climate change and the expansion of heathrow airport.
The story featured two days ago in the Uxbridge Gazette:
http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/07/377010.html Since then, the scale of the injunction BAA is seeking has become clear. They have targeted not only groups related to the forthcoming Camp for Climate Action, but also several campaign groups composed of local people opposing the airport's expansion, and even mass membership organisations like The National Trust, FOE, RSPB, Greenpeace, as well as the Campaign to Protect Rural England and others!
The injunction hearing which could see millions of people liable for arrest if they approach heathrow, will be heard next wednesday.
The Independent newspaper put the story frontpage today, and it's now been featured by BBC, Guardian, and other news sources. More details below:

ICELAND: Today about 20 protesters climbed cranes and blocked access to the Rio Tinto-Alcan smelter in Hafnarfjordur. 13 were arrested and one is still being held hostage by the police in Reykjavik. Saving Iceland has organized a 'summer of dissent' as a part of a campaign against the war-mongering aluminum industry and their subservient pets in Government. Beyond protesting against the devastating exploitation of Iceland's rivers and wilderness for cheap energy, the network is linked to groups with the same corporate enemies in Brazil, Trinidad, South Africa, and India. The struggle continues with Iceland's second Critical Mass this Friday.

Between the 7th and 8th of July a conference is taking place followed by a protest camp and a 'summer of dissent' in Reykjavik, Iceland. The country's pristine, and often protected, wilderness is being systematically destroyed by the aluminum industry and national power company in their hunger for cheap energy and increased profits. The environmental impact is vast, both globally and locally. We struggle against these crimes, and if you wish to support us, visit our website and join the fight to save Europe's last remaining wilderness.
