Tamil solidarity call-out - US embassy protest on Monday morning
rikki | 17.05.2009 22:37 | Anti-militarism | Repression | Terror War
news is coming through that the sri lankan army is continuing to use white phosphorous and chemical weapons. there are up to 25,000 people seriously injured in the area, and with the only medical facilities under constant bombardment from sri lankan rockets, most of those are expected to die.
the tamil community is asking for support in their efforts to persuade obama to intervene to stop the further slaughter. if you can't make it to the protest, there is a list of contacts being circulated. every effort to write to/email/telephone people on this list might just help save a life.
for news of the recent atrocities in the region, see

if you can't make the demo, tamil solidarity groups are urging people to flood the following contacts with emails/phone calls etc

and finally, bug the press, local and national - they are not giving the situation in sri lanka anywhere near enough airspace. people must be told what is going on there.
