Activist Tat Training Session 8th and 9th May
ATC | 06.04.2009 22:41 | Education | Social Struggles | South Coast
Do you want to help facilitate grass roots events?
Do you have a pile of useful equipment that you hardly use, cluttering
up your space?
Do have or know of a large storage space being underused?
Do you have skills or want to develop skills relating to logistics and
campaigning?
If any of these questions apply to you, talk to the ATC!
Last summer was the first operational year for the ATC. We obtained and
maintained alot of infrastructure and provided equipment and skills to the
Climate Camp, Radical Routes and the Animal Rights Gathering as well as
several weddings and smaller meetings!
This year we are expanding and will be working with various projects, from
Earth Activist Training, to the No Borders Camp in Calais and the Last
Chance Saloon at the Big Green Gathering.
The ATC was formed to acquire, store, maintain and monitor materials like
marquees, field kitchens, wind turbines, solar panels, vehicles, tools
and other equipment useful for putting on events. We also want to share
skills and help groups become more sustainable in their campaigning.
We want to support grassroots campaigns groups to organise events and
mobilisations by providing equipment and training. If you are part of a
group engaged in action and campaigning around such issues as social
justice or ecological defence, contact the ATC!
Individuals in the collective have years of experience in organising large
scale events. We want to share these skills and create an equipment
resource to help reduce the work load of individuals, and keep tat within
our networks.
Come along to our marquee training weekend 8th-9th May, Nottingham, to
learn how to put up and maintain marquees and learn more about what we do!
We will be running various training events throughout the year so get in
touch even if you can't make this event.
