Come and get skilled up, learn practical skills for putting on large scale convergences and find out more about the Activist Tat Collective!! 8th May-9th May, Nottingham, email for more info.

ACTIVIST TAT COOPERATIVE

Do you want to help facilitate grass roots events?
Do you have a pile of useful equipment that you hardly use, cluttering
up your space?
Do have or know of a large storage space being underused?
Do you have skills or want to develop skills relating to logistics and
campaigning?

If any of these questions apply to you, talk to the ATC!

Last summer was the first operational year for the ATC. We obtained and
maintained alot of infrastructure and provided equipment and skills to the
Climate Camp, Radical Routes and the Animal Rights Gathering as well as
several weddings and smaller meetings!

This year we are expanding and will be working with various projects, from
Earth Activist Training, to the No Borders Camp in Calais and the Last
Chance Saloon at the Big Green Gathering.

The ATC was formed to acquire, store, maintain and monitor materials like
marquees, field kitchens, wind turbines, solar panels, vehicles, tools
and other equipment useful for putting on events. We also want to share
skills and help groups become more sustainable in their campaigning.

We want to support grassroots campaigns groups to organise events and
mobilisations by providing equipment and training. If you are part of a
group engaged in action and campaigning around such issues as social
justice or ecological defence, contact the ATC!

Individuals in the collective have years of experience in organising large
scale events. We want to share these skills and create an equipment
resource to help reduce the work load of individuals, and keep tat within
our networks.

Come along to our marquee training weekend 8th-9th May, Nottingham, to
learn how to put up and maintain marquees and learn more about what we do!
We will be running various training events throughout the year so get in
touch even if you can't make this event.

centralisation

very centralised - I could see this happening a mile off boss. Control the means of production. you must think we are all stupid.

centralised... hmmm, yes, kind of

if you could see it coming a mile off you'd have seen it developing a couple of years back and also have seen the reasons while people thought it a good idea. nobody is forcing you to put your resources into the pool and nobody is forcing you to seek resources via the ATC.

there are certainly dangers of centralising all resources (and that's clearly a long long long way off happening). there are much greater issues relating to relying on individuals to provide these resources.

just me

monopoly noob wtf...?Looks good, your email address failed

I almost set up up a acme tat at the old Rainbow centre before it became sumac, as we had alot of cellar space.I would paint a specific type of orange or multicoloured stripe over all the tat tools, just line them up & do it, or something similar. This is what scaffolders Ive briefly worked near& tools shares Ive come across that work with less hiccups do.
V.useful for gatherings, festivals etc, seems worth hiring all the tools for future camps though from a tool hire that hires tool kits incase some of the police are ordered to steal our kit.
Ive lost loads of expensive-cheap equipment on actions cos of too few people doing too much or reversley things being abit clichey.I would like to give this collective tools in future if I can if you follow list everything, plus get somekind of insurance
