“I know I’m doing something that might save somebody’s life some day and that makes me feel good.” Said Harris.
The “Drug-Free Marshals” youth drug-education and prevention campaign was formed in 1993, to educate children as young as 6 on the dangers of drugs, and to challenge them to remain drug-free. They demonstrate their commitment by being “sworn in” and, pledging to remain drug-free, as well telling others about the harmful effects of drugs, and encouraging their peers to live drug-free lives.
The Drug-free Marshal help distribute the Foundation for a Drug-Free World’s truth about drugs booklets. These illustrated booklets offer compelling evidence on the dangers of drugs in simple straightforward language. Each is focused on a particular drug with the primary booklet entitled “The truth about Drugs.” They include real life stories from former users and are available in 19 different languages. Some of the titles include The Truth About Heroine, The Truth About Ecstacy, The Truth About Pain Killers and many more. All booklets are available to order at www.drugfreeworld.com
