a view from near the Bodge, of mining area 3
recent work near the woods......
soon to be the site office
a safe haven
a badger set, fenced off by UK Coal (just south of the woods)
the plant compound in the distance, near the road
preparation for heavy plant access
by the main road, they're having issues with gas pipes
is this some sort of threat?
expensive looking toys
paid to look menacing
To explain the various things going on, I've marked a few points of interest as well as the open cast areas.
Points of interest
A The squatted building known as "Bodge House".
B A rather nice protected woods.
C The area which will become the site office.
D Will be where processing is done and "plant" is kept.
E UK coal's access road which is currently being constructed and will run down through points C and D.
Open cast areas
1 First to be mined, working in strips which run North to South, moving Eastward. Won't take long, only 3 strips.
2 Next up, working in strips, moving Westward to meet area 1. 12 strips this time.
3 Eventually this will be mined, too, in strips moving Eastwards to area 4.
4 This one is last. The short strips run East-West and they will work from South to North.
