Rare Orchid Destroyed

Recently the field was leased out to farmer James Hayes. He promptly deep ploughed it.The Lady's slipper Orchid must have a rare and yet still unidentified fungus present to grow. This ploughing has destroyed not only the orchids but the rare fungus too.Information regarding this Orchid was published on the local Knowsly website "The Kirkby Times".Now the liverpooltimes.net.It may not seem much but this small flower had the capability to attract some of the worlds leading botanists, not to mention gardening tourists. Some thing irreplacable has gone. And it may even be the extinction of the UK species.
