The demonstration left from the conference centre, where during the last days several migration related workshops have been taken place. On the way to the embassy, malian riot police blocked the road. After 1 hour of negotiations it became obvious, that the police was firm and there was no way to reach the french embassy with the march.
Activists from NoVox said, that the malian police was probably checking with the french embassy and were told to stop the march from getting anywhere close to the embassy.

came to Bamako to make their voices heard in the social forum. They live in a camp in the Hippodrome (horse race statium) of Mali where there are exhibitions of the scenes from Ceuta and Melilla.
