A coach instructs the boys
All spent a lot of time in the water
Their entusiasm was obvious
It is rare for a private organisation to obtain a grant and offer Asylum Welcome a free course. Falcon Rowing and Canoeing Club did exactly this. Peter from the club approached Asylum Welcome saying he had funding. He hopes to get further funding so the boys can be trained in racing canoes with a view of racing against other clubs in the future.
I was lucky enough to attend their first lesson and observe their enthusiasm and how much they appreciated this opportunity. After what they have been through it is great to see something good being offered to them. It is money very well spent. It is a pity more private organisations do not do the same.
