Jasmin And Bruker Daltonics Announce Partnership For Supplying Radiation Detection Systems To UK MOD
Jasmin Simtec Ltd. and Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL) today announced the forming of a partnership in the field of intelligent radiation detection systems.

In April 2002, Jasmin Simtec, working in partnership with Bruker Daltonics, was awarded the contract for the supply of the Ship Installed Radiological Detection System for the UK MOD's Type 45 Destroyer programme. The Type 45 Anti Air Warfare Destroyer is an important procurement programme for the Royal Navy, with the potential for a total class of up to 12 ships. BAE SYSTEMS is the Prime contractor for the Type 45 Destroyer programme with a contract for the provision of six ships, all using the Jasmin/Bruker NATO-compliant, programmable SVG 2 system for radiological detection.

In addition, Jasmin and Bruker Daltonics are already cooperating on various other UK programmes in the area of substance detection and pathogen identification.

Jasmin's Commercial and Operations Director Chris Eggleshaw said: "This is an extremely exciting opportunity for both companies. We are very impressed with the quality and professionalism of Bruker Daltonics as a world-leading company in the field of radiation and substance detection."

He continued, "Jasmin has developed a reputation for the provision of ruggedised, innovative solutions across a range of market sectors that include government, local authorities, transportation and defence within the UK, Europe and the Pacific Rim."

"This partnership between Jasmin and Bruker Daltonics is an exciting development in the field of intelligent radiation and substance detection systems. Our relationship is already proving to be successful," emphasized Dr. Dieter Koch, Managing Director of Bruker Daltonik GmbH in Bremen. "Bruker Daltonics is indeed the leading supplier of military mass spectrometry detection systems, having an installed base of more than five hundred systems worldwide."

Bruker Daltonics is a leading developer and provider of innovative life science tools based on mass spectrometry. Bruker Daltonics also is a worldwide leader in supplying systems for substance, pathogen and radiation detection in security, defence and anti-terrorism.
