neo-liberist labour policies. CGIL, the biggest trade union, called
workers to protest against the abolition of art.18, an article
of the labour law preventing workers from being fired without
valid reasons.
An anti-terrorism colour was added very recently to the demo. This because
exactly three days before this enormous protest somone claiming to be part
of Brigate Rosse (Red Brigades, a terrorist group dead more than 15 years ago),
killed Prof. Biagi, advisor of the welfare minister for the labour market reform.
The Social Forum and Disubidients movement, which brought 300.000 of the 2 millions
in the streets, don't beleive in the existence of these new Brigate Rosse and
thinks they are a group controlled by corporate capitalism against social struggles.
Next stop for the italian movement is the general strike against Silvio Berlusconi
regime which will be joined by all the unions and by the movement.
