According to recent correspondence with participants in the noborder camp in Krynki, Poland, today's atmosphere is calm, as police have not harassed camp participants. However, organizers fear that another police assault will occur in the afternoon during the planned workshops, similar to the assault which occurred yesterday.
On Saturday, 19 police vans converged upon an area of a park where camp participants were preparing for a happening. Police aggression included the use of water cannons, in addition to the beating of camp participants and Krynki residents (who were in the park where the happening was to occur). As a result, Marek Kurzyniec and three other people from Krakow, were detained and finally released Sunday morning at 11AM.
Yesterday's police intervention had one possible result: the arousal of sympathy by Krynki citizens towards camp participants.
