Third black man found hanged in Telford

Johnny Elliot was found hanged at his home in Telford on the evening of 31
May 2001.
He is the third black man to have died by hanging in Telford since 1999.
was found hanged in July 1999 after suffering months of racist abuse. The
police had refused to act when Errol reported this.
The Justice for the McGowans and the Anti Nazi League have called the
following protests:
Friday 1 June 5pm, Picket Malimslee Police Station, Telford
Saturday 2 June 11am, assemble at Hadley Centre to march on the police
station
On Monday 4 June the Inquest into the death of Errol Mc Gowan opens. The
family want answers from the police. Why was his death never properly
investigated? Why did the police never investigate the racist attacks and
abuse that Errol reported before his death.
