Third black man found hanged in Telford
Johnny Elliot was found hanged at his home in Telford on the evening of 31
May 2001.
He is the third black man to have died by hanging in Telford since 1999.

Errol and Jason McGowan were both found hanged in Telford in 1999. Errol
was found hanged in July 1999 after suffering months of racist abuse. The
police had refused to act when Errol reported this.

The Justice for the McGowans and the Anti Nazi League have called the
following protests:

Friday 1 June 5pm, Picket Malimslee Police Station, Telford

Saturday 2 June 11am, assemble at Hadley Centre to march on the police
station

On Monday 4 June the Inquest into the death of Errol Mc Gowan opens. The
family want answers from the police. Why was his death never properly
investigated? Why did the police never investigate the racist attacks and
abuse that Errol reported before his death.

Monday 4 June, Protest outside the opening of the Inquest into the death
of
Errol McGowan, 9am, the Moathouse Hotel, Telford.

How many more deaths must there be before West Mercia police act?
