Democracy: Your Vote Counts... Aristocracy: Your Count Votes

So, having decided to cast a vote without illusions, either by writing 'Nobody' or 'Ficus' on the ballot paper or by giving an X to a reasonable candidate, what do you do if you're not registered ?
Never having been an abstentionist myself, I've always been registered, so I'm not too sure. Getting in touch with your local town hall seems a fair idea. If its too late, see if you're still registered at your family home; some parents do this out of sentimentality and it may come in useful for once !
