Police taser diabetic in a fit, when they should be arresting terror oil corprats
police are increasingly using a growing arsenal of "safe weapons"that kill from tasers to toys & state terror. We are being daily fed a diet of bullshit by the corporate state, so it comes as no suprise, 2 paranoid android officers twice tasered a diabetic on a empty bus despite being ordered not to if he did not respond
Dont the officers in this case need publicly reprimanding at the least.
If the authorities dont do it themselves the communities they police may feel forced to.
But shouldnt we all be reprimanding people like the Bush Family & other corporate oligarchs whoes powerhungry cultivation of terrorist groups & regimes has led to this situation & get true democracy
Failing Senior Care System Burdening Families
The war is still the number one issue in the U.S. 2008 Elections, but even as we work to bring this war to an end, it is essential that the country look at real solutions rather than illusory for-profit “solutions” to our basic problems: the crisis facing an aging working class, poverty, homelessness, the cost of living, low wages, inflation, the recession, and many other issues on the American agenda of things-to-do.How eco are Ecotown built by opencast mining companies?

I have just got off the phone after speaking to Neil Hobday, the Project Director for the proposed Trump Golf links golf resort development in eastern Scotland. I would like to say that he seemed a reasonable man, but that would be untrue because despite trying to interest him in the views of the rest of life on the irrepairable damage that will be caused to 1400 acres of pristine sand dune habitat, he was clearly stuck in the lie that the economy was far more important than our life support system.Film "The Price of Sugar" Documents Haitian Workers in Bateyes
The Price of Sugar is a powerful documentary about the plight of Haitians toiling on sugar plantations in the Dominican Republic. These workers cross the border from Haiti to labor in conditions that the film's central protagonist, Father Christopher Hartley, calls "quasi-slavery." They are housed in sugar company towns called bateyes. Stripped of identification papers, they cannot legally travel elsewhere in the country.Hartley is a Spanish priest who came to the Dominican Republic in 1997 and wound up advocating for the cane cutters in his parish. The film gives him plenty of time to voice a thorough, articulate critique of the system which exploits the Haitians. Hartley names the superrich Vicini family as controlling the bateyes; the Vicinis have taken legal action against the film to prevent it from being screened.
