The US embargo on trade with Cuba continues. This summer Pastors for Peace will again challenge the blockade with a friendship caravan. A fully stocked bookmobile will accompany it. Before the revolution there were only 32 libraries in Cuba. In 2002 there were 400 public libraries and 6000 school libraries. No to state racism! Defend all asylum seekers! No to deportations! No to the racist Labour government!





The next protest in the series of monthly protests at Dallas Court Reporting Centre, South Langworthy Road, Salford Quays (nearest Tram stop Broadway), will be held on Monday 26 March 2007 at 12pm - 2pm. People are kidnapped daily at Dallas Court and taken to detention centres, and racially abused and insulted by racist staff. All are urged to attend and support these protests against the oppression of asylum seekers by this racist Labour government. NWASDG has been organising these protests since May 2006. Get involved!

Manchester Pride crowd figures -- organisers exaggerate by at least 500%

The Manchester Pride organisers claim that 250,000 people watch the Saturday parade and similar figures have regularly appeared in the media over the years.

Manchester protest at JJB sacking

Last night a dozen or so supporters protested outside the JJB Sports shops on Market Street, Manchester during the evening rush. The response from the public was fantastic - the vast majority of customers turned away.

Shop management didn't seem too chuffed, the manager was buzzing between the shops watching in dismay. They took photos of the protesters (if you're reading this, can you send a copy so we can post it here?). Don't worry, you aren't going to need photos to remember what protests look like if the sacked union rep isn't reinstated quickly! Read more >>
