Farmers, campaigners and consumers travelled from all over the UK to converge on London on the 13th October to express their opposition to the governments plans to allow the commerciallisation of genetically modified crops.
In the days running up to the event, 'pilgrims' traveled from as far afield as Wales, Cornwall and Scotland and visited significant 'bio-threat' locations such as Cambridge, Newbury, Weymouth and Oxford.

On tuesday 14th october, the offices of Allianz in London recieved a visit from anti-GM campaigns. Allianz is the biggest shareholder of Bayer. Since Bayer bought Aventis Cropscience the company is the major player in GM crops in the UK and the only company to have varieties ready for commercial planting should the UK government ignore public opinion and allow GM crops to be grown.

This morning, Tuesday 14 October, at 9.30am fifteen demonstrators, including some dressed as a corn cob and a cow, occupied the offices of Allianz Insurance[1]. Police were called and all but one of the demonstrators was removed about twenty minutes after the occupation began. One of the demonstrators met with a Director of Allianz and the demonstration ended peacefully without any arrests.

On Saturday 4th October 2003, anti-GM activists set off from Totnes in Devon to cycle to London for the Tractor + Trolley event on Monday 13th October, on a bike ride that will take them via several GM-related locations, spreading the word that the majority of the British public do not want GM crops in the UK.
