A petition has been set up online by a Camden newspaper ~ Camden New Journal against the plans for "The World's Largest Ever Virus Containment Facility / Animal Testing Lab" to be built on a Camden council house estate. The petition also fights for Community facilities and Council homes to be built there instead! Please sign it!

After it wa sreported on tonights ITN news, Camden Town's nightclubs, bars and pubs, galleries and restaurants etc were tonight outraged by news that the go ahead was today given for the world's largest ever, highest level virus containment facility to be built in Camden which could see many businesses close - there are fears that people will avoid Camden Town, Kings Cross, Euston and the Angel area of London.

Many thanks and well done to everyone who made the anti-fur march and rally in London such a big success yesterday, Saturday December 1st. At least 250 anti-fur protesters took the anti-fur message right to the heart of the UK's fur retail trade. Protesters came from as far afield as Manchester, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Cambridge, Oxford, Norhampton, Devon, Wales and Gloucester to support the march.

The protest is against the sale of govt land to the NIMR / MRC - in order to build the world's largest ever animal testing lab & virus containment facility. The site is at Brill Place, Camden - London, on a council house estate & very close to Kings Cross / Channel Tunnel link. MI5 leaked the news amid security concerns.

The UK Animal Rights Gathering 2007 was taking place at a sanctuary in Kent last weekend. Over 200 people attended for workshops and discussions on various issues relating to animal rights, and to scoff Veggie's food. The entire event was peaceful and good natured, and made a mockery of a police who raided the site on Sunday.

Seated at a well-set dinner table near the entrance to Selfridges, an elegantly dressed woman was "force-fed" through a funnel by a man who was dressed as a waiter. This was the scene that made hundreds of shoppers stop and stare, yesterday(25-9-07) in Birmingham City Centre. The aim was simply to expose and shame Selfridges for their sale of foie gras - torture in a tin!!
