The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the UK KFA Trade Union section(UK KFA TUS) issued a joint statement denouncing the recent repression of the south Korean trades unions and people and expressing support for the struggle of the south Korean working people:
We have recently learnt of the shocking repression carried out by the south Korean puppet fascist regime of Park Geun Hye against the Korean Confederation of Trades and other working people in south Korea. 51 people have been arrested and detained by the south Korean puppet authorities. The south Korean puppet fascists used water cannon and tear gas against the protesters which has resulted at least one protester being hospitalised.
The south Korean people are struggling against the neo liberal austerity policies been imposed by the south Korean puppet regime of Thatcher like Park Geun Hye . South Korean people are also struggling against the sinister scheme to rewrite history so as to whitewash past south Korean dictatorships and the actions of pro Japanese traitors in south Korea.
We denounce the south Korean puppet fascist regime for brutal suppression of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and other working people. The fascist crackdown on the KCTU is intolerable and an assault of the rights of working people and the international labour movement must show solidarity with the the south Korean people.
South Korea is not a democracy , it has never been "democratised" . It is a third world fascist dictatorship . The "National Security Law "(NSL) is still in force . The NSL punishes socialist and communist thoughts and pro reunification views with prison terms of up to 7 years . Recently the Unified Progressive Party a legitimate opposition party was dissolved by force .The real human rights violators on the Korean peninsula are the south Korean puppets but the UN is silent about this.
We strongly support the struggle of the south Korean people against austerity and for better living standards and also in their struggle against the revision of
history textbooks.
