There has been an unprecedented media campaign by some NARPO former police officers to try to unseat the Chief Constable Nick Gargan despite a panel ruling that he has done nothing serious enough to be sacked.
In fact the original allegations of gross misconduct of a sexual nature, made 'second hand' by police staff, have all been found unproven.
The slave trading Merchant Venturers and other members of the South West's business elite want neither a truly independent Police & Crime Commissioner nor an independent Chief Constable because they have been used to having a pliable Colin Port-like Chief Constable who will protect the elite and white collar criminals from prosecution.
So have they been putting pressure on the PCC via the Avon PCC 'business leader' husband, Stephen Robertson, Director of Business West?
Nowhere in her campaign literature or on her website does Ms Mountstevens mention her husband's role. As if it isn't significant.
Well, it is.
