In our first hour, a July 2007 speech by Nafeez Ahmed exposes the hypocrisy of the so-called "War On Terror". He puts this in a context of created enemies by outlining Hitler and WW2 as creations of the financial elite, then the Cold War as a fiction useful to both tyrannical governments intent on suppressing opposition. He focuses on how USA consciously created terrorist Islamic groups in the 1970s, not only by providing funds but also giving visas to leaders to enter USA so they could attend courses before traveling to Asia where they fought on the Soviet border. He also mentions similar acts of hypocrisy such as NATO's deliberate destruction of Yugoslavia by funding of terrorist groups.
In our second hour, we read the first half of a 2006 essay by Brian Bogart, entitled Sins of Statecraft: The War on Terror Exposed. Citing Ahmed heavily, his congruent analysis gives more context on the natural continuity between the Cold War and the "War On Terror". In particular, he highlights the role of the 1979 Jerusalem Conference on International Terrorism (JCIT) which successfully created a new concept - the nebulous threat of "International Terror", and fraudulently pinned the blame for it on the Soviet Union. The speakers included not only George H. W. Bush, but also Brian Crozier (whom we mentioned last episode and some other key members from Le Cercle. Little noticed at the time, the conference appears to have been seminal in the plan to promote the "War On Terror".
Thanks to the London Sound Posse for recording Nafeez Ahmed's speech
