UG#667 - Community Successes (Restoring Our Connection To The Land)

Our next topic is a new one on the show, aquaculture — the fusion of hydroponics and pisciculture. As we hear, the two are linked not only by water but by beneficial microbes. Alex Smith begins his interview of Silvia Bernstein with the prediction that within 10 years aquaculture is very likely to provide you with some of your food.
We conclude with a vintage (1998) talk by Catherine Sneed on The Garden Project, which was created to reconnect prisoners with the land around them. She reports how effective this has been at providing an alternative vision, especially for the financially marginalized.
