Arts Charity ‘Wise Thoughts’ Returns With ‘London Gay Art Festival’ GFEST

A North London based arts charity Wise Thoughts returns with the annual November LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex) cross-art event GFEST - Gaywise FESTival.
GFEST 2013 will take place from 7th to 9th November. The festival comprises of a screening of films, star –studded music performances, creative workshops, a Bollywood themed party and a visual arts exhibition at the North London venue.
Artistic Director of GFEST and Wise Thoughts, Niranjan Kamatkar said, “I am excited with this year’s selection of art, performances and films. A number of people got in touch to say that they are pleased with the return of the GFEST showcase, featuring must-see talent.”
QBoy, Dean Atta, Naechane Valentino and EvOn Musicbully will be headline acts for the GFEST performances on 9th November.
On the 8th November, Some London and UK premieres in the line-up of films include: feature length ‘The New Black’, and short films - Bumming Cigarettes, Miss Nizhoni, Hide and Seek and My Genderation (Alice) - made by filmmakers from the UK, USA and all the way to Pakistan.
Four creative workshops will run under the theme of ‘Learning from Riots’ on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th November at the arts centre.
‘Riot of Colours’ visual arts exhibition will feature the extraordinary works by Beldan Sezen, Marta Kochanek, Jason C Woodson, Sina Shamsavari and Simon Croft.
GFEST 2013 closing party ‘Bollywood Blast’, which is open to all, will take place on 9th November from 9.30 pm and is organised by Sholay Productions, New York.
