Session beginning with a short film on the Raytheon 9 protestors who stormed an arms factory in Derry, followed by discussions on the arms trade itself with with War on Want and Campaign Against the Arms Trade.

Hear from War on Want about the dangerous trend towards using Private Military and Security Companies to outsource security and privatise wars. Find out about recent developments in remote control wars that rely on drone technologies and Campaign Against Arms Trade will share the latest on Dsei one of the world's largest arms fairs, due to take place in London in September, and what you can do to help stop it.
This session will start with the inspiring short film “Not in Our Name” about 9 activists who stormed an arms factory in Derry, Northern Ireland on the 12th August 2006, during the Israeli military campaign against Lebanon. They caused an estimated £350,000 worth of damage and were arrested. They denied nothing, yet the jury acquitted them of all charges.
