BIKES WITHOUT BORDERS
The idea is to collect bikes, fix them up and take them over to Calais Migrant Solidarity with a load of useful materials...
THE PLAN
Monday 8th Oct & Tuesday 9th Oct: fix up bikes @ Cranks, 22 Chapel St, Brighton, BN2 1RQ ( http://cranks.org.uk)
Drop into Cranks between 10am-5pm Monday 8th Oct or 3pm-7pm Tues 9th Oct and try to bring a bike to donate to Calais... and / or bike parts, trailers, repair kits etc and any extra donations...
People in Calais are in desperate need of tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins as a lot of squats and shelters have been evicted leaving many people living on the street and it is now coming up to winter.
Wednesday 10th Oct: Cycle to Calais
Meet at 8am outside Cranks to begin the 90 mile cycle to Dover. In the likely event we don't make it in one go there's some good wild camping spots so bring a tent and sleeping bag.
This will be weather dependent... a back up van will be travelling the same day taking any extra bikes and useful tat.
