Camille is chief organizer for “Win Animal Rights” (W.A.R.), a subgroup of SHAC that regularly holds intimidating late-night protests at targeted Americans’ homes” and runs a rescue centre called AnimalSave.
PETA also told her that animal rehousing was, "their business" and to ensure she could not set up another home they worked with local police to ensure she was prosecuted on manufactured and untrue evidence. PETA investigator Teresa Gibbs testified that the animals running around outside were in unshaded pens and suffered from mange. Inside, she said she found cats and kittens in cages, animal feces and urine on the floors and walls, and more sick animals. All of this was untrue however it ensured that Camile lost her right to run an animal sanctuary in the state of South Carolina.
PETA thinks that it and it alone should be running animal homes and will seek to shut down individuals who do not follow the PETA rules.
Camilie is still rescuing animals at Animalsave but now in North Carolina.
