Catholic Workers Jailed in U.S. as part of the Occupy Movement

Des Moines (iOWA/ USA) Catholic Worker founder Frank Cordaro was sentenced to 30 days in Polk County, Iowa early this morning, after he and 10 other members of Occupy Des Moines were arrested for criminal trespass at "People's Park" at the Iowa State Capitol at 11pm last night. Des Moinies Catholic Worker Eddie Bloomer was sentenced to 14 days.
The following form Occupy Des Moines are also still locked up:
- Christopher Jordan Gudenkauf, 5 days
- Brian Latimer, 5 days
- Daniel Bragg, 5 days
- Ryan Laudick, 5 days
- Kaylynn Lee Strain, bonded out
John Franklin, Jessica Reznicek, Julie Brown, and Leslie Davis all posted bail or were otherwise released.
Occupy Des Moines has run a sustained campaign confronting the Republican & Democrat primaries whose traditional first port of call is Des Moines, Iowa.
