“Animal welfare is not a priority” says Chief Constable Martin Richards

Jake Knight, on behalf of Arun Animal Action, used the system to ask the Chief Constable whether officers should pursue lines of enquiry where evidence is gathered by any non-police body (such as Arun Animal Action). Jake said: “I put in a question to Chief Constable Martin Richards over the live web chat. Luckily – one of my questions out of 15,000 were picked. Ch Const M Richards meets with the NFU (National Farmers Union) twice a year however Mr Richards made it perfectly clear that animal welfare is not a priority. Shame on Sussex Police”
Although it isn’t a priority Chief Constable Martin Richards was keen to point out that Sussex Police would investigate.
