CALL  A  COUNCILLOR

 

With local elections to be held on 5th. May, some councillors have been ringing people up asking if they “have any problems”.  Nottingham City Council are planning to bring in a cuts budget for 2010/11 which will hit many vital services, especially ones providing for the disadvantaged.

 

It is sick, disabled and old people needing support; women fleeing domestic violence, children at risk and people with mental, drink and drugs problems who will be hit hard.  Also leisure and cultural facilities such as libraries are targeted.  Many Council employees providing your services are to be sacked. And this is just for starters.

 

So why not give your friendly, local councillors a call? Let them know that you don’t want any cuts to your public services, paid for by you.  They’re waiting to hear from you.  So don’t be shy, tell your councillors what you think.

Don’t forget.  Give your Nottingham City councillors a ring before 7th. March when they vote on their cuts budget.  Tell them that you don’t want it.  What we want is for the Council to set a needs budget which continues to deliver the necessary services upon which we depend.
