Tonight the JDL Toronto Division hosted a rally for the EDL at the Toronto Zionist Centre. There was a counter-demonstration by around 50 antifascists outside the centre. Police charged the peaceful protestors with horses and it is believed four arrests were made for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, inside, the JDL supposedly had a speech made by EDL’s Tommy Robinson, most likely via an internet source.

Once again the police took the side of the JDL/EDL and not those protesting, despite the JDL supposedly being an FBI named ‘Domestic terrorist’ organisation and the protest being entirely peaceful. Police waved batons and struck some protestors, and one officer threatened protesters with tear gas. Meanwhile four or five of JDL’s meanest looking lads stood in a nearby bus shelter, clenching their fists in anticipation of the probable beating they would have taken had they not been protested by the Toronto Police Force. Many JDL members sported ‘Never again’ hoodies, and the irony of these people sporting these hoodies and allowing platform to the EDL cannot be overstated.
