Police say "think of the children" in student protest

Do the police really think the public are as stupid as most politicians, who have supported them? Are the police in a parallel world, not the real world? The group of people children need protecting from are called the police. It was the police who kettled children and stopped them moving around, causing some disorder as a result though probably not as much disorder as the police hoped for. It was the police who went onto the streets armed and armoured and proceeded to attack people with clubs, fire extinguishers and horses.
The police are calling for "organisers" to contact them. This is to allow the police to kettle protestors more easily. People should not make that mistake, but should undertake decentralised protests to minimise the chances of the police attacking people.
