No checkpoints, just very nice people!
The old world finery of Combination Room.
What's for supper..?
History in the making.
Live Twitter feed writ large.
Self catering only.
Freedom of entry and exit - the best kind.
A very inspiring place to visit!
Senate House may not have been taken on Wednesday, but the Old Schools building more than makes up for it.
The general atmosphere is one of positivity, with a everyone very relaxed, but at the same time there is plenty of activity, with many people coming and going all the time.
Best of all, the occupying students don't seem to be having the same problems with building staff that happened at The Law Faculty earlier this year.
There are no checkpoints at the entrance.
Thank goodness!
I really hope this good rapport between students and staff continues, as there is nothing worse than for people to be living in an environment of suspicion and distrust. If they keep this dialogue going, they will continue to have the good, productive and friendly environment that currently exists.
Best of luck to everyone involved - you're doing a fine job.
It's a shame that this community has had to emerge in such dire circumstances, but at the same time it is also inspiring to see such affirmative action taking place, as it sends out a very clear message to the government (from all the occupations) that the next generation of students DO give damn about their futures, and DON'T want to be burdened with ridiculous amounts of debt just for using their initiative and trying to get qualifications.
Clegg and Cameron, get a grip and scrap Tuition Fees - stop short changing the future!
