Yesterday another protest was organised in support a KFC suspended for not accepting free labour.
The article below, with explanation of the situation, is from a previous thread. the pics are from yesterdays protest.
In response, a picket of the shop was called at short notice and held on Sunday 10 October. Around a dozen people held a lively and militant demonstration for two hours. Leaflets proclaiming ‘No pay? No work!’ were distributed to customers and passers by and cars turning into the KFC drive through were stopped and asked to ‘Boycott KFC’ for the day, which many agreed to do. Almost emptying KFC for the duration of the 3 hour protest.
The rights of low paid workers must be defended! After thirteen years of a war mongering, barbaric Labour government the working-class is now threatened by an equally vicious Tory-Lib Dem ‘austerity’ government. Millions of casual, part-time and agency workers, mainly in the private sector, have no voice in the multimillion-pound trade unions, which have consistently failed to organise the mainly young and unskilled workers exploited in industries like those of the fast food business. Only by mobilising the local community and other low paid workers can their rights be defended.
Picket KFC!
