As air gunner, Flying Officer Pay has Completed numerous operations against the enemy, during the course of which he has invariably displayed the
Utmost fortitude, courage and devotion to duty.

In 1943 My father as a young man volunteered to join the R.A.F. As tail gunner (tail end Charlie) for "Bomber Command" he flew some 50 missions deep into enemy territory, for which He was awarded the DFC.

Last year After suffering two strokes, which have severely affected His memory He was transferred from Kent and Canterbury Hospital, to The Miamar Nursing Home, Beltinge, Herne Bay Kent.

The Miramar was formerly an Hotel once used by Barns Wallace while He developed the bouncing bomb, for one of Bomber Commands most publicised raids (The Dam Busters) on the dams of industrial Germany.

My Father now 86 years old has no sense of time or space. He thinks that Raymond Pay is a friend of his. He has both long and short memory loss He no longer recognises his son, and suffers from hallucinations, He is an insulin dependant diabetic, with dietry control. He has a chronic kidney condition and other associated health problems.

Raymond is to be evicted from The Miramar as a result of the Home Management withholding important information from the East Kent and Coastal Trust (The NHS) who are refusing to accept responsibility for His care Fees.

This Man risked His Life on a daily basis for his country and for the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. He is one of the few survivors of bomber command during a period which changed the lives and expectations for the British People and most Europe for more than half a century.
