Bristol Campaign For Free Public Transport - inaugural meeting tonight, Monday 23rd August, at Redcatch Community Centre, Redcatch Road, Knowle BS4 2EP (main buses from the centre – 51 and 54 to Broadwalk Shopping Centre). The meeting starts at 7.00pm and all are welcome.
Public Transport will be a key issue for workers in the coming period, as cutbacks by employers and government hit living standards. The FreeBus campaign had a very successful launch meeting a few weeks ago, and Friends Of Suburban Bristol Railways continues to campaign for better rail services. Now it is hoped that by the autumn a Bristol branch of the national Campaign For Free Public Transport will be up and running, adding its distinctive contribution to the debate. The inaugural meeting is due to take place tonight, Monday 23rd August, at Redcatch Community Centre, Redcatch Road, Knowle BS4 2EP (main buses from the centre – 51 and 54 to Broadwalk Shopping Centre). The meeting starts at 7.00pm and all are welcome.
Meantime a website explaining what the campaign stands for has been set up here – http://bristolcffpt.wordpress.com/
