I am please to report this to has been a victory for common sense with the centre deciding not to force animals to travel and then be surrounded by screaming, excitable children and busy, noisy shoppers.
Animal Rights Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Uni's Animal Respect was also instrumental in getting Pets at Home to remove an offer for a rabbit and small hutch they planned to run over Easter. The offer could have lead to even more impulse buying and discarding of rabbits. Pets at Home are now only offering equipment at a discounted rate, however hutch size remains at issue. We additionally leafleted customers at our local Pets at Home – encouraging people to adopt, not buy.
