Yesterday afternoon, right-wing extremists of New Force (Forza Nuova, party close to Griffin BNP), led by their leader Roberto Fiore, the former MEP opposed to immigration, abortion, euthanasia, same-sex couples, scientific research and the European Parliament itself, have in Piazzale Loreto tried to occupy the square to hold a campaign rally.
The party leaders had repeatedly requested permission for the use of the historic square, but, to avoid clashes and tensions with liberal left members and antifas, the commissioner had denied them permission, allowing, in turn, by Via Campo Santo (it. Cemetery St.), a street behind the Cathedral.
The militants of Forza Nuova, however, did not accept peacefully the refusal of the police yesterday afternoon and were discharged in twenty in the square from their designated, unrolling a banner with "democratic" words written on "Enough immigration, no integration."
But the policemen were prepared to incursion and, given the buzz on the Internet where they were called to rally anti-fascist movements have patrolled the streets to avoid clashes and unrest. At about 18:00 start to get the militants of Fn with the intent to demonstrate in the square, but police and carabinieri just ten blocks away at the corner of Via Battaglia and Viale Monza, while others 3 boys and a girl still tried to exit underground. Even the twenty people who can reach Piazza Loreto is eventually brought to police headquarters. Altogether 38 militants, including Flower, are reported to "Failure of measures" is the accusation. Funny twist of fate. Just take them so long to the Authority!
