Some participants will go on to become anti-deportation trainers for their organisation or in their community. Others will find their own campaigns strengthened.
We will look at:
- The asylum system: how it works and what to do when it fails
- Planning, launching and running a campaign
- The roles of solicitors and supporters Involving politicians
- Dealing with the media
- Having a local /regional campaign network
- Running your own training workshops
Participants should be:
- A person facing deportation or working directly with those facing deportation
- Familiar with the basics of the asylum process and the experience of those facing deportation
- Committed to passing on and disseminating what you gain in the workshop
- Interested in the possibility of a regional anti-deportation network
This event is free, but places are limited. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for people who are seeking asylum. Lunch will be provided.
