Through the success of the documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore has raised considerable global awareness around the issue of climate change. Public demand is now insisting that his next film addresses the urgent need of putting an end to malnutrition, which claims the lives of 5 million children every year.
Unopposed to the idea, a spokesperson for Al Gore recently commented in Time Magazine: ‘It’s quirky. I have to admit it’s a good idea’.
Spurred on by the response, Action Against Hunger has been soliciting key-figures in the movie world to add their voices in their quest to get Al Gore to make No Hunger. Sign-ups already include Verne ‘Mini Me’ Troyer and Emma ‘The Science of Sleep’ de Caunes. Their petition will then be presented to the former Vice-President in December at the climate change conference in Copenhagen.
