While bringing the working people to clearly understand that to make full preparations for production in the rainy season is an important guarantee for the victory in the ongoing 150-day campaign, the government sees to it that thorough-going preparations to prevent the seasonal influence are being made in the sectors of the mining industry, hydro power stations, railway transport and construction ahead of others.
Measures are being taken to prevent the excavated coal and ore from being washed away by rain.
Hydro-power stations are repairing and arranging hydro-power structures including dams, water intakes and waterways and are taking steps to protect outdoor substations from thunderbolt and rainstorm beforehand.
The construction sector is also paying attention to continuing construction without letup in the long spell of rain.
The gravels and sand extracting sites are being operated in full capacity to excavate larger quantities of gravels and sand for the construction sites of major objects in the rainy season and measures are being taken to protect construction materials from the damage by rain.
Much effort is being directed to preventing already-constructed hydro-power structures and temporary installations for production from being damaged by flood in the construction sites of such large hydro-power stations as the Huichon Power Station, Ryesonggang Power Station and Orangchon Power Station and minor hydro-power stations.
All other units in the national economy are also taking measures to carry on production in the rainy season by repairing roofs and storm sewerage system and checking the storage of raw and other materials.
