Rob Williams was sacked by Visteon (officially Linemar) company officials for his involvementin the Visteon occupations. Many of the workers immediately held a picket outside the plant in Swansea, and were son joined by Cardiff, Caerphilly and Swansea members of the Socialist party, and the protestors waited as company officials negotiated with Williams.
Rob Williams refuseed a 'six-figure sum' payoff, and the negotiations were postponed until the next afternoon whe the protestcontinued this time attended by members of the Socialist Workers Party and later the workers from Belfast, who gave a massie amount of support.
