The hunger strike is now attracting increasing numbers of supporters to the square including two young students from Kings College who join Mr Subramaniyan in a fast and British activists from a range of other networked groups who assemble to show solidarity with the plight of the Tamil people.
The situation in Sri Lanka continues to worsen and as a result there are now calls for Sri Lankan government representatives to be summoned to the United Nations to explain themselves.
The UN are also under pressure to consider sanctions.
