Launch of the 2009 Wordiary. Entry of £4 comes with a copy of the radical diy north east diary.
Wordiary has returned for a second year. To celebrate and get rid of some copies there is going to be a Pub Quiz at the Star ad Shadow.
The diary has been drawn and written on diy participatory values by nearly sixty people. Every day of the year will tell of events in north east history where people afflicted the rich and powerful or lived lives to the fullest.
Each and every page has been drawn by people with often little more than enthusiasm and a pencil. The diary is an exercise in reclaiming history and popular creativity, full of happenings that have been forgotten and deserve our attention and admiration.
It also covers local political groups, opportunities for direct action and news of where you want to live if you want to avoid nuclear war on Tyneside.
