Hello everyone,

Here are updates for the RR campaign.

We have now formally got a name - the Power Through Wind not Weapons campaign. We also have a website (www.windnotweapons.co.cc) which is brilliant.

About the planning application Rolls Royce Raynesway have in to rebuild the nuclear fuel manufacturing plant and nuclear test reactor on the same site which is on a zone 3a flood plain.

1/. The planning meeting to decide this application will be on the 6th November, if you haven't got round to objecting to this application yet please do it now! So long as it's in your own words, it doesn't matter how short or simple the letter is, but you need to get it in by the 3rd November at the latest as they won't accept any more after that. For details on how, go to the website or email me and I'll send them.

2/. We have a petition for Derby dwellers to sign about this. I attach a copy. If you live in Derby, please print out a copy, get everyone you know to sign it and send it back to us by 1st November. We need thousands of signatures, so please pass it on to other people as well. If you live within 1km of Rolls Royce Raunesway there is a special petition for you which I can email to you or which you should be able to get off the website.

3/. We are trying to go door to door in the 1km around the factory to get signatures for that petition, but we only have until the 3rd to do this. If you are willing to do an hour or two, please get in touch with me Zina (0116 253 1649) or Dorothy (01332 727237).

4/. There will be a Candlelit vigil on the Council House steps on Corperation St , on 3rd November, 4.30-6.00pm. Bring a candle in a jar and lots of friends! We need to show the planning committee that there is real local opposition to this factory being rebuilt. Also please put up posters anywhere and everywhere - they are attached.
